Herpes!!!??

  1. Herpes is typically spread through skin-to-skin contact. The virus doesn’t live long away from the body. This is why you can NOT catch herpes from towels or toilet seats.
If someone had a cold sore, then touched the cold sore to a straw, and then immediately passed the drink to you and you used the same straw, it is possible that you could catch herpes that way. But you would need to drink IMMEDIATELY after them. Likewise if you were passing around a tube of lipgloss.
But you should know that 50% of people have oral herpes by the time they are teenagers, and by the time a person turnd 50 there is an 80% chance that they have it. I would avoid sharing drinks or kissing with people who have open sores on their face – just on general principle. But I wouldnt’ worry too much about catching oral herpes.
    Good luck.

  2. cold sore-herpes are very contageous. i would not kiss anyone with a cold sore or possible herpes on their mouth. many people do get cold sores, but they can also be spread to other persons. you are right about cold sores and oral sex. not a lot of people know this. dont be afraid of someone who merely has a minor cold sore, but do not be kissing this person while it is visible. i have a couple friends with herpes of the mouth and i have drank off their drinks and smoked off their cigarettes, but i do not do either if they have any signs of a breakout. i am still herpe free and cold sore free. any sore on the mouth or genitals can be herpes. remember that often people with herpes get no outbreaks at all, but can still spread the disease. be careful out there. the world can be a scary place.

  3. well i can tell u that the oral sex thing is possible since thats how i got herpes. but yes it is possible to spread herpes throgh sharing drinks and kissing (i now have cold sores on the mouth too from kissing). more so when there is a sore then when there isn’t.
cold sores and oral herpes are the same thing.

  4. Unfortunately yes, the two are interchangeable. And yes, if the person you are kissing has a cold sore outbreak, you can catch it. If they don’t have any cold sores then it’s safe.

  5. you can most definately catch genital/oral herpes from coldsores. coldsores are a type of herpes. you can catch herpes from sharing towels, cups, bodily fluids, skin contact, they can spread from touch.

  6. Why american people are paranoied about herpes?lol

  7. you dont get herpes from having coldsores…unless i havnt understood what your asking

  8. Yes, you can get cold sores from kissing another person who get’s cold sores. Remember that this is HSV1 and is extremely common (many people are just born with it). You are right, you can give it to someone on their genitals with oral sex, however, the type of herpes commonly known as gential herpes, HSV2 is only contracted through the genitals (except in very rare occasions people can get them in their mouth but this is RARE). The facts about cold sores (HSV1) is that it’s pretty much impossible to protect yourself from it. By the age of 40, 80% of the population has the virus (whether they get outbreaks or not). It all has to do with your immune system, usually if you havn’t gotten a cold sore by your late teens you won’t ever get one even if you contract the virus. Don’t worry about it. As long as you don’t kiss someone who has a noticeable sore, give/take oral sex, try not to drink immediately after someone with a cold sore (it is also very hard to catch it this way since the virus dies when exposed to air), you will be good. Just don’t freak out, cold sores are about one of the least worst diseases you could catch in your lifetime..
