How Do I Sent Up Voip & Fios Before The Router?

By FIOS are you talking about fiberoptic internet service provided by Verizon? VOIP providers have made provisions for their equipment to be behind a NAT router. I don’t think that you need to worry about “putting it out front”. Just hook it in and see what happens. So long story short FIOS->Router->ATA and computers.

  1. I had Vonage behind my router using Fios and it worked great. I just switched to SunRocket V0IP, plugged the Gizmo (VOIP Box) into a LAN port on my router and once again it works great. Just plug your CAT5 cable into one of your open LAN ports on the router and then plug the other end into the WAN on the VOIP box.
