I have started this Diet (lifestyle change) in the middle of November at 140lbs, and now at 117lbshttp://hubpages.com/hub/fruit_fast
A DIET IS WHAT YOU EAT....there for we are all on a diet....
THINK LIFESTYLE CHANGE
You got the change the way you think and feel about food
TRY THIS, and stick to it.
The first 3-4 weeks are the hardest until your body adjusts to the change.
Results will be in about the same time
Fruits and Veggies
Eat more plants and keep away from stuff that was made in plants.
Don't eat anything that comes in a can, box or package....
.....THEY HAVE ADDITIVES IN THEM THAT MAKE YOU ADDICTED TO THE FOOD.....
If man made it, don't eat it
NO white BREAD or SUGAR
NO PIZZA, I am in the pizza business, and it is not good for you, very high in FAT and Calories
NO FRIED FOOD...
Stay away from FAST FOOD
NO POP, SODA or FIZZY DRINKS
Walk your dog, or walk a friends dog
Don't think of it as a diet, but think of it as a lifestyle change
I have lost 28.5 pounds in 3 months, drink lots of water. I usually eat a meal of what ever I want once a week....controlled portion....this really works.........
Write down every thing you eat
take a multivitamin at night

Can't say i've dieted much, but this may hamper your weight loosing effort. Your body can burn almost any fuel from food: sugars, fats, proteins can be converted to get you going. But your brain is picky, it will only go by sugars, or if nothing is available, protein. If you would quit eating now, your body could do with the fats it stored during the fat years. but your brain would start to consume muscle tissue to get its need of sugars. The brain is very energy consuming, i think it uses up to 10 percent of your total energy demand.
So when dieting you need sugar. but "ordinary" refined sugar will make your blood sugar level spike: it is taken up quite instantly. the body reacts with a gush of insulin, overshooting the sugar content as the sugar is used up. to much insulin causes you to crave for more sugar.
so the trick is to eat slow sugars: nice whole grain bread for instance.
also, if you are also working out to gain muscle, you'll need protein (well, kinda obvious)
So the point is that you'll keep on craving for food if you concentrate to much on avoiding such and such food ( although there is no need for refined sugar, i think) for me a balanced diet (a little animal, lots of veggies and fruits, grains), helps to me to avoid eating to much, while retaining strength to benefit from workouts. Well no wiki ref. or scientific article to back this up, just personal experience

Hi,
What is your current body mass index? If your BMI>= 30 than you are overweight and you need to lose some weight :)
Do you prefer to work out or tried some medicine to lose weight?
Diet that is devoid of fat but is rich in essential vitamins and minerals that can be got from fruits and vegetable. It is best to avoid fat-laden foods like chocolates, snacks and biscuits.
Avoid eating yellow part of egg and butter.
Buddy I have found good article for you: http://www.articlecube.com/Article/Xenic…

Early in the morning before you eat, your levels of muscle and liver glycogen (stored carbohydrates) are low. If you eat dinner at 7 p.m. and you eat breakfast at 7 a.m., that's 12 hours without food. During this 12-hour overnight fast, your levels of glycogen slowly decline to provide glucose for various bodily functions that go on even while you sleep. As a result, you wake up in the morning with depleted glycogen and lower blood sugar - the optimum environment for burning fat instead of carbohydrate. How much more fat you'll burn is uncertain, but some studies have suggested that up to 300% more fat is burned when cardio is done in a fasted, glycogen-depleted state.

vegetarian diets are good for losing weight, as they dont have as many grams of fat, carbs, protein, all that other stuff that makes your body pack on mass. but i know some vegetarians that are fat and some people who eat lots of meat who are super skinny. its not a sure-fire way to become skinny. its a start though
