Should I Get My Son Diet Pills Or Start Him With Purging?
He’s 13 and we both agree he could lose a little weight (the kids at school have been making fun of him, along with some of the parents at the PTA). He’s 5′5″ and 114 pounds. I don’t want to look like a bad parent having an obese child, so I’m curious as to whether bulimia or diet pills will be more healthy for him.

Ummm, I think that neither are healthy. Maybe exercise and a healthy diet are the best ways to lose weight. Also, 5′5″ and 114 pounds isn’t that fat at all. And especially not obese. But don’t get him started throwing up! That would make you look like a horrible parent.

There is nothing wrong with that weight. What are you thinking? Diet pills and wanting to know if he should take them or throw up everything that he eats. Do you realize how dangerous both of those are? Please tell me you are a troll, because if you aren’t you are desiring to abuse your son-

Are you nuts?! What is wrong with that weight? If anything, he is under weight. Being that tall and at that weight is normal and shouldn’t be looked at as wrong. Society puts too much emphasis in the way people look. If people are really making fun of the way he looks, maybe you need to take a step back and see how stupid those people you associate with really are.

Neither. No diet pills. No purging. He’s taller than me and lighter. He sounds like a twig to me. But im a girl, and i have jugs and a phat butt and im big boned but curvy. 5 foot 3 and 119 pounds. Measurements are 36, 22, 34. Get him in a sport and exercise and eat healthier. Manage how much intake on junk food he eats, drink water/gatorade. ect. lets use common sense here

You should go join a health club with him. They offer family discounts. If not then go walking or jogging with him. Also cut back on sodas, and eat more veggies, bake chicken and stay away from fast food n carbs. Eat small meals 5 times a day. drink water. Don’t get him on diet pills it’s bad for the heart. Making him purge is bad! Cardio workout is the best! If he craves for sweets give him fruits n yogurt!

you are a terrible parent to think something like this. Do your research first of all. 5′5′ and 114 is not obese, and definately is not over weight. Get ahold of yourself. I am a mother and I would never ever even think about putting my 13 year old on diet pills or purging. You seriously have a lack in parenting skills and should be reported to social services. Have you ever thought logically about a positive way to get him to loose weight if thats what you feel he needs (although he would be underweight if he lost any more weight)? Something healthier for your child would be to pack his lunch for school instead of letting him get a school lunch, don’t take him to fast food places, and watch how your cooking and what ingredients you’re cooking with.

first of all it is about your kid not you and bulimia is flat out wronge and being put on DIET pills by your parents would be hard to deal with and could lower his self esteime even more. the best thing to do would be for him to go on a diet. for exxample he could eat healthy things like salad, fish, fruit. he sould lay of bread and stuff like that for a bit because of all the carbs. he should also get his 60 minutes of workout 3 to 5 times a week in and he should not over do it because that is unhealthy. but he should be happy with his disicion and should work hard at whatever it is he wants to do and not quit because it gets a little hard

Daniel, you are a piece of **** parent for even considering that option.
5′5″ and 114 pounds is more than healthy for a boy his age AND height.
the fact that you are saying that he is obese, or even contemplating that thought, is completely ridiculous. consider using a BMI scale to see how healthy he is. EVEN BETTER, why not consult his doctor?
diet pills are DANGEROUS. they have adverse affects on people, let alone growing kids. they can cause severe heart issues, anxiety, etc.
and as a recovering bulimic, you piece of ****, it is not something that you can just make a person do. bulimia is a mental disorder, and after months or even weeks of purging food, the stomach acid completely breaks down teeth, and is awful for your esophagus and nose.
how about exercise and healthy food.

Well what a chunky monkey!! How about both! Good luck and I know I helped.

Well he obviously does not have a good role model at home. Bulimia or Diet Pills? Are you KIDDING!? How about getting involved in an after school activity? Playing a sport? Eating HEALTHIER?
December 6th, 2009 8:27 AM
are you kidding? this has to be a joke!
in case its not, you are an idiot. i tell you what i am 5′5” and i weigh alot more than that and i am not obese. leave your kid alone.

December 6th, 2009 8:27 AM

December 6th, 2009 8:27 AM
Hi weight his fine. He has a BMI of 19, that is normal. I seriously hope this isn’t really, people like you shouldn’t be allowed to reproduce
December 6th, 2009 8:27 AM
He’ll be healthier if you get a knife and shove it into your arm violently several times.
December 6th, 2009 8:27 AM

December 6th, 2009 8:27 AM
does your mommy know you are up this late?

I have been through it all and know what’s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can’t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I’ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.
Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.
First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can’t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising…
This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it’s good for the heart.
However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It’s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I’ve found a great addition to help any one out, it’s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don’t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don’t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn’t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It’s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace.com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it’s the best pill I’ve tried and I’ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn’t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I’ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.
Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.
