What Are Some Ways To Motivate Me To Stay On A Diet Plan?
I want to loose some weight, I was planning on doing this as a new years resolution, but I think that the more days im wasting, the bigger I’m getting. The problem is I can never stay on a diet. Can someone give me a few tips?
I would Appreciate it so much!

Hi Andy
The best way to motivate yourself to maintain a diet plan is to set yourself up for some early success. Success then breeds more success.
Also, the easier it is to follow the plan, the greater the chances that you’ll keep it up.
Here’s a simple plan that works well, especially for men.
Eliminate sugar, fruit juice and grains. Reduce alcohol. Reduce fruit and increase vegetables, both cooked and raw. Eat about 3 oz. of beef, chicken or salmon at each meal. If you’re still hungry, add more vegetables. When thirsty, drink only water. This should start you off on the right path.
Eat slowly, and only when you’re hungry. Stop when you’re satisfied.
Getting a little more exercise can’t hurt either.
I hope this helps some!
Good luck!

Hi Andy!
The best technique I know if order to keep you motivated to eat well is the 80/20 rule. 80% of the time, eat healthy meals and snacks, and 20% of the time, you can be less strict and indulge yourself (without falling into excess though..!).
Also, by personal experience, I would say that diets don’t work. Most of the time, after doing a 2 weeks or 1 month diet, you will gain back all the weight you lost and even more.
The key then is to substitute the food you are already eating by healthier alternatives. Look for low-fat products at the grocery store and select them. By eating whole-grain breads, low-fat peanut butter, margarine instead of butter, yogurt as opposed to ice cream, etc. you will see results quickly.
Don’t starve yourself. You want to eat reasonably when you are hungry, but once again, only select healthy products! This way, you are way more likely to sustain good eating habits over time.
Good luck!
