Fad diets don’t work in the long run. Just cut back on the calories and fat (butter, cream, sugars, red meat, etc) and increase the fresh fruits and veggies. Don’t buy ice cream when you want something sweet; buy fruit. Sometimes I’ll eat strawberries with half a teaspoon of sugar just to give it that extra sweet kick. Half a tsp of sugar is far less sugar than what’s in a cup of ice cream.
Also start lifting light weights to help tone your arms. They don’t have to be 20 lb weights, 2 – 5 lbs is enough. Eventually you may want to go up to 8 or 10 lbs depending on how bulky you want to be. Anything more than that and you might start looking like Gov. Arnie in his prime! Remember that to bulk up you need to increase the amount of weight used, but to keep toned you just need to increase the number of reps you do.
Good luck.
